Version 0.0.1 – CAO 12 September 2022
For those who call themselves “Mormons”, or affirm that they are a part of “The Church of Latter Day Saints (LDS)”, I’m writing this post for you. I’m hoping that you read this in its entirety whether or not you believe that you are already saved or know what I’m about to write to you. My hope is that before reading any further, that you sincerely pray that God will give you wisdom, understanding, and open your eyes to His Truth (James 1:5).
I believe this blog post can clear things up when it comes to who Jesus really is, who God really is, what sin is, and why all people need to be saved from sin. If you do not believe some or any of the words below, I encourage you to carefully review each Scripture reference below, and if you are confused, please consult a Bible Commentary or a non-LDS elder/pastor. I have provided Bible verses that support each thought below:
The following was written to a friend, out of love for the lost and a desire for all to repent and turn back to God (2 Peter 3:9). It was for a professing believer that continued to teach a false gospel and push that false gospel on others. My desire has always been to help steer people away from false doctrine and towards a more Biblical path. I hope that any future reader can gain something from this. – Ben
The following was to a follower of Islam who had questions about the Gospel, written out of love for the lost and a desire for all to repent and turn back to God (2 Peter 3:9). I hope that any future reader can gain something from this. – Ben

It was for a professing believer that listened to Steven Furtick, and my desire to help steer them away from false doctrine and towards a more Biblical path. I hope that any future reader can gain something from this. – Ben
It is the belief that baptism should be performed not only for believers (credobaptism), but also of the children of the believing family, specifically infants.

This gets asked time and again. “Free will” here doesn’t refer to the power of choice (also called Creaturely/Compatibilist Free Will — CFW), such as choosing what you want to eat, or wear, or which movie to watch, etc. The Reformed position believes in Creaturely/Compatibilist Free Will (aka, all humanity has the power of choice).
What we will be discussing is Libertarian Free Will (LFW — by the way, this has nothing to do with the Libertarian political ideology/political party). LFW means that not only can we make choices (CFW), but we also have a choice in our own salvation. To the questions below, someone believing in LFW would answer ‘yes’, while someone believing in CFW would answer ‘no’:
“Does humankind have the power to freely choose to submit/obey/pursue God?
Can humankind freely choose to be saved by Christ on their own?”
These are the correct questions to ask when the layman speaks of “free will”, and it’s these same questions that we will be looking at today in Scripture.
