“Give me a revelation
Show me what to do
‘Cause I’ve been trying to find my way
I haven’t got a clue”
(Lyrics from: Revelation – Third Day)
So today’s post comes from a conversation between myself and another guy I was talking to yesterday.
We got on the topic of Paul’s thorn in his side (2 Corinthians 12:8-10), and I told him that I could never figure out what it meant and why God would give him a thorn in the first place.
I kept trying to figure it out, but I noticed I was blinded from the truth of that Scripture. Why did God intentionally give Paul a thorn to hold him back? Then the Lord gave me help, He asked “Why do you need to understand My reasons for doing things in order to trust Me?”.
Trust God first, then He will give you understanding
– Not – Try to understand His ways in order to trust Him.
While I was thinking it over, He brought to my mind the first verse of Scripture I learned,
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.”
I was dealing with a trust issue in my own heart, apparently for a long amount of time in my life. Thank you Lord for Your help.
